Mariamely Leoni was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and in 1998 at the age of 15 moved to the United States because of the expected changes in the political situation of Venezuela. Since then Mariamely resides in Miami, Florida.
Mariamely was raised among the best Venezuelan musicians such as Aldemaro Romero and Simon Diaz, Serenata Guayanesa sang her to sleep along with the Boleros of her grandmother Amely. As a result of the musical environment at home Mariamely developed a great interest in music and dancing. At age 7 started taking piano classes but her passion was Flamenco dancing, so at age 12 she dropped the piano lessons and started dancing Flamenco at one of the best Flamenco academies in Caracas with Diana Patricia, best known as “La Macarena”.
Mariamely graduated from Western High School in 2002 and continued her studies at Nova Southeastern University where she obtained her Bachelors in Business Administration and Marketing. While pursuing her degree Mariamely worked, for 2 years, at one of the most popular Latin nightclubs in Miami “La Covacha” where she created the marketing campaigns for all the events and concerts she helped arrange, and where she had the opportunity to meet a great deal of big artists such as Caramelos de Cianuro, Amigos Invisibles, Aterciopelados, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Bacilos, Frankie J, Wisin y Yandel, Angel y Khris, among others. Although La Covacha was a very interesting job it was not what she wanted to do for a living; therefore, she decided to try a different area of the music business and that is when she started working at Elatinmusic.com a digital music store that then became Batanga Music Store and that is how Mariamely is now part of the extraordinary team of Batanga.
